Breeding Stock
All of our breeding animals are held to high standards:
-Romneys are registered with the American Romney Breeders Association (ARBA)
-Romeldale/CVMs are registered with the National Romeldale CVM Conservancy (NRCC)
-All purebred breeding ewes and rams have been tested for fiber diameter, and they are selected for fleece quality.
-All of our breeding animals are tested for Scrapies resistance (codon 171).
-All of our breeding stock originate from OPP-free flocks, and we test our flock for OPP to maintain OPP-free status.
-We select animals for our flock based on adherence to breed standards, rate of gain, parasite resistance, and fleece quality (staple length, luster, crimp, handle, and color).

Laurel is one of our registered Romeldale/CVM rams. He was born in 2012. His fiber tested at 21 microns, and is a beautiful, crimpy dark grey. His color genetics add depth of color to our lambs.

Luthor is a registered Romney ram, born in 2012. His pale natural colored fleece won third place in its class at the Iowa State Fair two years in a row, and his fiber tested at 35.7 microns. Luthor comes from breeding lines with great longevity and wonderful temperament.
